Carwyn Ellis Live at Chester’s!

This is probably the most excited we’ve ever been about sending an email, even though it’s not about wine! Hopefully this will be the start of many Courtyard sessions..

If you have ever drank in house with us, there’s a good chance you would have been sipping along to the magical sounds of Carwyn Ellis & the Rio 18, the beautifully curated Samba, Bossa Nova vibes combined with charming Welsh language folk is the perfect pairing to an evening at Chester’s! We are over the moon to have booked Carwyn to perform here next month.

It has taken Lloyd a long while to get this over the line, and we invite you to join us for what will be a memorable evening in the courtyard.

Not only that, but we have also managed to convince Alex Johnston of Pattern Pusher to come along and support, Alex is a long time friend of Lloyd’s and he’s called a favour in! Pattern Pusher’s latest album has been a huge hit and the lads have supported Primal scream, Wolf Alice to name drop a few… have a listen here for some indie pop bangers! On the eve we will have a raw performance from Alex’s fabulous vocals & keys!

‘Carwyn Ellis is a Welsh musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is known as the frontman of British alternative band Colorama, as a member of The Pretenders and as a long-time collaborator with Edwyn Collins.

In 2019, Ellis embarked on the first solo project under his own name, Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18. A collaborative project sung in Welsh and recorded mainly in Rio de Janeiro. The album, Joia! was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize.
